Plant Care FAQ

Answers about access, AI tools, saved plants, reminders, photo features, and your plan.

Access & Getting Started

After completing your purchase through Stripe, your access code is delivered to the email address you used at checkout. Check your inbox — and your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes. The code format is PLANT-XXXX-XXXX.
Go to the home page and enter your access code in the access panel at the top — just below the header. Type your code and click Activate. The app will validate your code and open immediately. You can change your code anytime by clicking the same panel.
Yes. Your access code works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. Just enter your code on each device and your saved plant profiles and plans will load automatically.
First, check your spam or junk folder and confirm the email used at checkout. Then use the code recovery page. If the email is not recognized, contact us through the Contact page and include the purchase email or Stripe receipt.
Your code follows this format: PLANT-XXXX-XXXX — where X is a letter or number. For example: PLANT-A3F7-K2M9. It is not case-sensitive, but entering it in uppercase avoids any confusion.
Go to the code recovery page and enter the email address used for the purchase. Follow the instructions shown to recover access. If the email is not recognized, use the Contact page and include your purchase details.

Plans & Payment

No. This purchase is a digital web-app pass. You receive online access and an access code; no book, plant, card, or other physical item is mailed.
The 90-day period begins when Stripe confirms the purchase or renewal, not when you first open the app. The exact expiration date is shown after checkout and in your pass status.
No. Credits belong to the current 90-day pass period and expire when that pass ends. A manual renewal starts a new 90-day period with the credit balance of the selected plan.
No. Every plan is a one-time payment. There are no recurring charges or automatic renewals. The 90-day period begins when Stripe confirms the purchase or renewal.
When the pass expires, new AI generation and active-pass allowances stop. Saved plants, plans, journals, photos, diagnoses, and history remain accessible and are retained for up to 180 days after expiration. Renew the same code before that period ends to begin a new 90-day period and credit balance.
Yes. Renewal is manual. Go to the Renew Your Pass section, enter the same code, and choose a plan. The confirmed renewal starts a fresh 90-day period and credit balance; unused credits do not roll over.
Saved app content remains accessible and is retained for up to 180 days after expiration. Renew or recover the same code before that period ends. After the retention window, plants, plans, journals, photos, diagnoses, identifications, reminders, and history may be permanently deleted.
Yes — but only through our support team. If you need a new code for security reasons (for example, if someone else knows your code), contact us through the Contact page. We can issue a new code that replaces your current one while keeping all your saved plants, care plans, diagnoses, and history intact. Do not purchase a new plan on your own — that would create a separate account with no access to your existing data.
Since this is a digital product with access granted immediately after purchase, all sales are final. If a technical issue prevents you from using the app, send the details through the Contact page so our support team can review the problem.
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world. We never see or store your card details. The app only receives confirmation that the payment was completed.
Yes. Every plan unlocks the same tools for 90 days from confirmed payment. Plans differ by their fixed AI Care Credit balance. Unused credits do not roll over, and Smart Product Guide has a separate allowance.
No. Full Access means every feature is available during the 90-day pass. New Generator results, Plant ID, and Photo Diagnosis use the fixed AI Care Credit balance for that pass period.
Each new Generator result, Plant ID, or Photo Diagnosis uses 1 AI Care Credit. Failed requests do not use a credit. Unused credits expire with the pass and do not roll over.
Opening, reviewing, searching, saving, renaming, exporting, organizing, or deleting saved plants, plans, diagnoses, journal entries, reminders, and history does not use an AI Care Credit.
No. Smart Product Guide has a separate allowance of up to 300 guides per active pass and never reduces your AI Care Credit balance.

Using the App

After activating your code, complete your Profile and open the Generator. Describe the plant manually or use a photo to fill the form, choose one of the 9 AI tools, and select Generate. Your personalized result is usually ready in about 10–20 seconds.
Generated results are saved automatically to My Plans. You can open, organize, and review them later from any device using the same access code.
On the home page, fill in the Plant Profile form with your plant's details. After generating a plan, you can save the plant directly to your collection. You can also save it manually from the generator. All saved plants appear in the My Plants page.
The Generator includes 9 AI tools: Basic Care Plan, Watering Plan, Fertilizing Plan, Repotting Guide, Propagation Guide, Pet Safety Check, Problem Diagnosis, Care Calendar, and Plant Finder. Photo Diagnosis and Plant ID are available as dedicated photo tools.
Plant care involves many variables — soil conditions, humidity, local climate, pests, and more — that can't always be assessed without seeing the plant in person. The AI uses careful language to reflect this uncertainty and to encourage you to observe your plant closely before making major changes. This is intentional and responsible.
No. The app provides AI-generated guidance to help you understand likely causes and practical next steps. It is not a replacement for professional horticultural inspection, especially for severe infestations, disease outbreaks, or commercial growing situations.

Journal, Reminders & Search

The Plant Journal is your personal care diary for each plant. Open it from any plant card in My Plants. The journal shows your plant's full profile — its bio, care schedule, and botanical details — and lets you log care events like watering, fertilizing, and repotting. You can also write free-form diary notes. Journal entries are saved to the server and linked to your access code, so they are available from any device.
The Care Log records every care action you log manually for a plant: watering, fertilizing, repotting, pruning, and any custom notes. Each entry is timestamped automatically. You can view the full history from any plant's journal page. This helps you track patterns, identify what's working, and know exactly when you last cared for each plant.
Care Reminders send you automatic email alerts when a plant needs watering, fertilizing, or repotting. To set them up, open a plant's journal and find the Care Reminders section. Enter your email address and set the interval for each type of reminder. The app sends the alert automatically on the schedule you choose. You can adjust or deactivate any reminder at any time from the journal. Your email address is used exclusively for reminders and is never shared or used for marketing.
Yes. From any plant's journal, you can download a .ics calendar file for each care reminder — watering, fertilizing, or repotting. This file can be imported into any calendar app that supports the standard .ics format, including Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook. The event repeats on the same schedule as your email reminder, so you can see your plant care schedule alongside your other appointments.
Today organizes your plants into overdue, due today, and no-action-needed groups. You can record watering, fertilizing, or repotting directly from the dashboard, and the plant moves automatically when the task is completed.
Yes. Generated results are saved automatically to My Plans and linked to your access code. Your saved plants, plans, photos, journal history, and reminders remain available when you use the same code on another device.
An active pass includes up to 300 AI Help messages. Visitors without a pass can ask 2 free plant questions, and the app-support chat allows up to 5 messages per session. AI Help messages are counted separately and do not reduce your AI Care Credits.
Search helps you quickly find plants and plans already saved in your account. To receive recommendations for new plants that match a room, light level, pets, or care preferences, use Plant Finder in the Generator.
AI Help includes separate chat modes for plant questions and app support. Visitors without a pass can ask 2 free plant questions, the support chat allows up to 5 messages per session, and an active pass includes up to 300 AI Help messages. These messages do not use AI Care Credits. Questions requiring human review should be sent through the Contact page.

Photo AI Features

Photo Diagnosis lets you upload a photo of your plant — or a specific problem area like a yellowing leaf, spotted stem, or drooping root — and receive an instant AI diagnosis. The result includes: the most likely problem with its clinical name, the physiological cause, what to do today, a 7-day rescue plan, common mistakes to avoid, and specific guidance on watering, repotting, and light during recovery. From the result, you can generate a full Recovery Plan with one click — a week-by-week treatment program tailored to your plant’s condition, saved directly to My Plans.
Plant ID lets you upload a photo of any plant and instantly identify its species. The result includes the common name, scientific name, botanical family, confidence level, origin and natural habitat, a quick care profile covering light, water, humidity, temperature, soil, and fertilizer, the three most common problems for that species, and a pet safety statement. Plant ID also performs a two-phase health scan: after identifying the species, it analyzes the plant’s visible condition and flags any signs of stress or disease detected in the photo. At the end, a button lets you go directly to the Generator with the plant name pre-filled.
Yes. Each photo diagnosis or plant identification uses 1 AI Care Credit, the same as any text-based plan. You can check your remaining credits at any time in the access badge at the top of the page.
Yes. Both Photo Diagnosis and Plant ID results — along with a small thumbnail of each photo — are saved to your account on our server and linked to your access code, accessible from any device. You can view, revisit, and delete your last 50 results at any time from the Diagnose and Plant ID pages. You can also save any result as a plan to My Plans for easy reference. Note: the full original photo is not stored on our servers — only the result and a compressed thumbnail are kept.
Results depend on image quality, lighting, and how clearly the problem area is visible. For best results: take the photo in natural daylight, make sure the affected area fills most of the frame, avoid blurry or dark photos, and add an optional note describing what you observe and when it started. The AI also indicates its confidence level for plant identification — high, medium, or low — so you always know how certain the result is.
Your photo is compressed and sent to OpenAI’s API server-side for analysis. The full original photo is not stored on our servers — only the diagnosis or identification result and a small compressed thumbnail are saved on our server, linked to your access code. Please review OpenAI’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle API image data.

Urgent Payment & Photo Help

Return to the Stripe success page and select Check Again. If the code appears, select Resend Access Email and check spam or junk. If that page is unavailable, use the code recovery page with the purchase email. If recovery still fails, use Contact Support and include the purchase email, approximate purchase date/time, plan, and the safe PC reference shown on the success page.
Send only the purchase email, approximate date/time and time zone, plan name, public status shown, and a reference such as PC-XXXX-XXXX. Never send card numbers, passwords, a full access code, Stripe Checkout Session ID, or the complete success-page URL.
Use JPG, PNG, or WebP under 8MB, check the connection, reload once, and retry with a different clear photo. A failed technical request should not use an AI Care Credit. If it repeats, copy the complete ERR-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXXXXXXXX reference and use Contact Support.
Include the Error ID, whether you used Plant ID or Photo Diagnosis, approximate date/time and time zone, device/browser, file type, approximate file size, and whether a retry worked. Do not send your access code or the plant photo unless support specifically requests a safe attachment.

Adaptive soil-review reminders

The app estimates the next soil-check date from the plant profile, season, environment, recent care, journal notes, and your observed moisture. Record whether the soil is dry, slightly dry, moist, or wet. The date may move earlier or later and the app explains why. It never tells you to water automatically. You can use a manual interval at any time and later resume adaptive scheduling.

Rooms and growing spaces

Yes. Create an optional room or space, add shared light and environment notes, assign plants, and filter My Plants by that location. Existing plants remain unassigned until you choose a space. Shared conditions are organizational context only; each plant’s individual profile and care needs still take priority.

Data & Privacy

The app stores your access code, the plant profiles you create, your user preferences, the care plans you save, your journal entries, and your email reminder settings — all linked to your access code on our server. Diagnosis and identification results, including a small thumbnail of each photo, are also stored on the server linked to your access code. No sensitive personal data is required.
No. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe. The app never receives, processes, or stores payment card information.
When you generate a plan, your plant information is sent to OpenAI's API to produce the response. This is processed server-side — your browser never communicates directly with OpenAI. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle API data.
