User Guide

Learn how to use every major tool, organize daily care, and keep your plants, plans, reminders, and history connected.

Step 1 — Unlock the App

1

Get your access code

After purchasing the digital pass, your access code is sent to the checkout email. Nothing is shipped. The 90-day period begins when Stripe confirms payment, not when you first open the app. The code looks like PLANT-XXXX-XXXX.

2

Activate your code in My Profile

Open My Profile and go to the access section. Type or paste your code and select Activate or Verify. Once validated, every tool unlocks and the app displays your AI Care Credit balance. Smart Product Guide is tracked separately.

3

Access granted

The app unlocks immediately and creates a secure session in this browser, so you do not need to enter the code on every page. Keep the code for recovery or a new device.

Don't have a code yet? View the digital passes — one-time payment, 90 days from confirmed payment, no subscription or automatic renewal.
Before You Buy or Activate

A digital 90-day pass with fixed AI credits — no subscription.

One payment starts a 90-day access period when Stripe confirms the purchase or renewal. Nothing is shipped, and renewal is always manual.

All tools are included

Use the 9 care tools, Plant ID, Photo Diagnosis, Today, saved plants and plans, journals, reminders, AI Help, Smart Product Guide, and all 11 languages.

1 new AI result = 1 credit

A new Generator result, Plant ID, or Photo Diagnosis uses 1 AI Care Credit. Failed requests do not use a credit. Unused credits expire with the pass and do not roll over.

Saved content does not use credits

Opening, searching, saving, renaming, exporting, organizing, or deleting saved content does not use an AI Care Credit.

Digital product · one-time payment

You receive app access and an access code; no physical item is mailed. There are no recurring charges or automatic renewals.

After the 90 days

New AI generation and active-pass allowances stop. Your saved plants, plans, journals, photos, and history remain accessible and are retained for up to 180 days after expiration. Renew or recover the same code before that period ends.

Smart Product Guide is separate

Smart Product Guide includes up to 300 guides per active pass. It has its own allowance and never reduces your AI Care Credit balance.

Step 2 — Create Your Profile

Your profile helps the AI personalize every recommendation to your situation.

1

Set your experience level

Choose Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. This helps the AI explain things at the right level of detail.

2

Describe your home environment

Select your home type (dry, humid, air-conditioned), plant location (indoor, balcony, office), and pet situation. These details directly affect watering and care recommendations.

3

Save your profile

Click Save Profile. Your profile is stored on the server and linked to your access code — it loads automatically when you unlock the app on any device.

You can update your profile at any time. Changes take effect on your next generation.

Step 3 — Describe Your Plant

The more detail you provide, the more accurate and actionable your results will be.

1

Enter the plant name

Type the common name — for example: Monstera, Peace Lily, Snake Plant, Pothos, Orchid. A scientific name is optional but helpful for uncommon varieties.

2

Describe the pot and soil

Select your pot type (plastic, terracotta, ceramic), whether it has drainage holes, and the potting mix you're using. These factors directly affect watering frequency and root health.

3

Set light and watering habits

Select the light your plant receives (low, medium indirect, bright indirect, direct sun) and how often you currently water. If you're not sure, choose Not sure — the AI will note what to check.

4

Set the current status

Is the plant healthy, declining, recovering, or under pest treatment? This helps the AI prioritize urgent care steps.

You can have different plant profiles for each plant. Save each one individually from the My Plants page.

Step 4 — Generate a Personalized Result

1

Choose an AI tool

Open the Generator and choose one of 9 AI tools: Basic Care Plan, Watering Plan, Fertilizing Plan, Repotting Guide, Propagation Guide, Pet Safety Check, Problem Diagnosis, Care Calendar, or Plant Finder.

2

Click Generate

Click the Generate button. The AI typically takes 10–20 seconds to produce your personalized plan. A loading indicator will show while it works.

3

Review your results

The result appears in clear, organized sections based on the tool selected. Review the recommendations carefully. The complete result is saved automatically to My Plans.

ℹ️ Each generation uses one credit from your pass. If the AI request fails for any reason, no credit is deducted.

Step 5 — Diagnose a Plant Problem

1

Select Problem Diagnosis

In the Generator section, click the Problem Diagnosis card.

2

Select your symptoms

Select the symptoms that describe what you're seeing — yellow leaves, brown tips, drooping, mold on soil, pests, and more. You can select multiple options from the grid.

3

Answer the diagnosis questions

Provide additional context: when it started, which leaves are affected, soil condition, whether you've checked the roots, and any recent change such as repotting, fertilizing, or moving the plant.

4

Review the diagnosis

The AI returns: Likely Causes, What to Check First, Immediate Action Today, a 7-Day Recovery Plan, Mistakes to Avoid, and When to Worry.

The more symptoms and context you provide, the more targeted the diagnosis will be. Don't skip the recent changes field — repotting, fertilizing, or moving a plant are common hidden causes.

Step 6 — Manage Saved Results and Plants

1

Automatic result saving

Every completed Generator result is saved automatically to My Plans and linked to your access code. You do not need to press a separate Save Plan button.

2

Add a plant to My Plants

Use Save Plant when you want to add a plant profile to your collection. My Plants gives each saved plant its own journal, care history, photos, notes, and reminders.

3

Open and organize My Plans

Open My Plans to review, organize, rename, or delete saved results. They remain connected to your access code and load when you activate that code on another device.

Photo Diagnosis — Upload a Photo of Your Plant

Photo Diagnosis is a separate page that lets you upload a photo and receive an instant clinical diagnosis — no text forms needed.

1

Go to the Diagnose page

Click Diagnose in the top navigation or the bottom menu. The page is available to any user with an active access code.

2

Upload your photo

Tap the upload zone or drag a photo directly onto it. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported up to 8MB. The photo is automatically compressed before sending — large phone photos work fine. For best results, photograph in natural daylight and make sure the affected area is clearly visible.

3

Add an optional note

You can add a short note describing what you observe — when it started, whether the soil is dry, if you recently repotted, etc. You can also type the plant name if you know it. Both are optional but improve the result.

4

Read your diagnosis

The AI returns a structured diagnosis in your language: the condition name, the physiological cause, what to do today, a 7-day rescue plan, what not to do, and guidance on watering, moving, and repotting.

Each photo diagnosis uses 1 AI Care Credit. Your last 50 results and compressed thumbnails are saved to your account, linked to your access code, and available across devices. The full original photo is not stored.

Plant ID — Identify Any Plant by Photo

Don't know what plant you have? Plant ID identifies the species from a photo and gives you a complete care profile — plus a one-click link to generate a full care plan.

1

Go to the Plant ID page

Click Plant ID in the top navigation or the mobile menu. The feature is available to all users with an active access code.

2

Upload a clear photo of the plant

A photo showing the full plant or a clear view of its leaves and structure gives the best results. Avoid extreme close-ups that only show a single leaf segment without context. Good lighting is essential for accurate identification.

3

Review your identification

The result shows: common name, scientific name, botanical family, confidence level (high, medium, or low), origin and habitat, a quick care profile with 6 key parameters, the 3 most common problems for that species, and a pet safety statement.

4

Generate a full care plan in one click

At the bottom of the result, click Generate Full Care Plan. The app automatically navigates to the Generator with your plant name pre-filled. Simply choose your plan type and click Generate — no typing needed.

Plant ID uses 1 AI Care Credit per identification. Your last 50 results and compressed thumbnails are linked to your access code and available across devices. The full original photo is not stored.

Plant Journal & Care Log

The journal is your personal care diary for each plant. Open it to view the plant profile, log care events, and write notes.

1

Open a plant's journal

Go to My Plants and open any plant card, then tap View Journal. The journal shows your plant's bio, botanical details, and active care reminders.

2

Log a care event

In the Care Log section, tap Log Care. Select the action — watering, fertilizing, repotting, or pruning — and add an optional note. The entry is saved with a timestamp and linked to your access code.

3

Write a diary note

In the journal notes area, write any free-form observation — how the plant looks, what you changed, or anything you want to remember. Notes are private and saved to your account.

All journal entries are stored on the server and accessible from any device. There is no limit to how many entries you can log per plant.

Email Reminders & Calendar Export

Set automated email reminders for each plant's watering, fertilizing, and repotting schedule — and export them to your calendar.

1

Activate a reminder

In a plant's journal, find the Care Reminders section. Click Set Reminder for the care type you want — watering, fertilizing, or repotting. Enter your email and choose the interval (for example, every 7 days).

2

Export to your calendar

After setting a reminder, click the calendar download button to get a .ics file. Import it on your device to add the repeating event to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any app that supports the .ics format.

To stop reminders, open the plant's journal and deactivate the reminder — no further emails will be sent. You can set different email addresses for different plants.

Today — Your Daily Care Dashboard

Today shows which saved plants need attention and helps you record routine care without opening each journal.

1

Review today’s priorities

Plants are organized into overdue tasks, tasks due today, and plants with no action currently needed.

2

Record completed care

Log watering, fertilizing, or repotting directly from the dashboard. The care event is added to the plant’s history.

3

Keep the dashboard current

After you complete a task, the plant moves automatically to the correct group based on its next scheduled care date.

Today works with plants saved in My Plants. Set care intervals and reminders in each plant’s journal to keep the dashboard useful.

AI Help — Your In-App Assistant

Use separate chat modes for plant questions and app support, with responses in your selected language.

1

Open AI Help

Open AI Help from the navigation menu and choose the chat that matches your need: plant assistance or app support.

2

Ask your question

Ask in plain language. The assistant keeps the context of the current conversation and displays the remaining message allowance inside the chat.

3

Use Contact for human review

For payment, access-code, account, or technical issues that require a person to investigate, send the details through the Contact page.

AI Help does not use AI Care Credits. Without a pass, visitors can ask 2 free plant questions; app support allows up to 5 messages per session; an active pass includes up to 300 AI Help messages.

Adaptive soil-review reminders

Today and Journal use a next soil-review date that learns from real care events instead of repeating a fixed watering command.

1

When a soil review is due, select Check soil and record dry, slightly dry, moist, or wet.

2

Only mark that you watered when you actually decided to water after checking the plant and substrate.

3

Read the explanation to see which conditions moved the next review earlier or later.

4

Set a 1–90 day manual interval when you prefer full control, then choose Resume adaptive schedule to return.

A reminder is an observation prompt—not proof that the plant needs water.

Organize plants by room or space

Rooms and growing spaces help you filter a collection and record shared conditions without replacing each plant’s individual care profile.

1

Create a room or space

Open My Plants, select Manage spaces, enter a name, and optionally add shared light and environment notes.

2

Assign and filter plants

Choose the room when creating or editing a plant, then use the room filters to focus on one space or plants that are still unassigned.

3

Use shared conditions as context

The room summary shows shared light and notes, but individual plant requirements always take priority. Deleting a room only unassigns its plants; it never deletes them.

Fast Help for Payment and Photo Errors

Use these safe recovery steps before contacting support. They solve the two most common urgent problems without sharing sensitive information.

Payment completed, but no access code

  1. Return to the success page opened after Stripe checkout. Select Check Again and allow the payment, code, and email status to update.
  2. If the code is visible, select Resend Access Email. The copy is sent only to the email used at checkout. Also check spam or junk.
  3. If the success page is no longer available, use the code recovery page with the purchase email.
  4. If recovery does not find the purchase, open Contact Support and provide the purchase email, approximate purchase date and time, plan name, and the safe PC-XXXX-XXXX reference shown on the success page.

Photo upload, Plant ID, or Photo Diagnosis error

  1. Use JPG, PNG, or WebP under 8MB. Choose a clear image and confirm that the internet connection is stable.
  2. Reload the page once and retry with a different photo. A failed technical request should not use an AI Care Credit.
  3. If the error repeats, copy the complete ERR-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXXXXXXXX reference displayed by the app.
  4. Open Contact Support and provide the Error ID, feature used (Plant ID or Photo Diagnosis), approximate time, device/browser, file type, and approximate file size.
Share only safe diagnostic details
Never send a card number, password, full access code, Stripe Checkout Session ID, full success-page URL, API key, or private plant photo. Support can investigate with the purchase email plus a PC-… or ERR-… reference.

Step 7 — Find A Plant For Your Space

Plant Finder is different from all other plan types — it helps you discover a new plant, not care for an existing one.

1

Select Plant Finder

In the Generator section, click the Plant Finder card. You do not need to fill in the Plant Profile form — this tool works independently.

2

Describe your space

Select the room, available light, how often you want to care for a plant, whether you have pets, and the visual style you prefer.

3

Get your recommendations

The AI recommends 3 to 5 plants that fit your space, with details on care difficulty, light needs, watering frequency, pet safety, and placement tips for each one.

Once you choose a plant from the recommendations, come back and create a full care plan for it using the Basic Care Plan type.

Step 8 — Renew Your Pass

1

Go to the Plans page

Visit Plans → Renew Your Pass.

2

Enter your existing code

Type your current access code and click Check My Pass. You'll see your current usage, expiry date, and plan details.

3

Choose a plan and pay

Select a plan and complete payment through Stripe. Confirmation starts a fresh 90-day period and resets the AI Care Credit balance to the selected plan. Unused credits do not roll over. Use the same code so retained saved content stays connected.

Your access code is linked to all your data. If you ever need a new code for security reasons, contact us — we can transfer all your data to a new code without losing anything.
After expiration, AI generation and active-pass allowances stop. Saved plants, plans, journals, photos, diagnoses, identifications, reminders, and history remain accessible and are retained for up to 180 days. Renew or recover the same code before that window ends; afterward, app content may be permanently deleted.
Lost your access code? Go to the code recovery page, enter the email used for the purchase, and follow the instructions shown. If the email is not recognized, use the Contact page.

Tips for Best Results

Be specific with pot and soil details

Drainage holes, pot material, and soil type are the most influential factors in watering recommendations.

Don't skip the watering frequency field

Your current watering habit — even if it's wrong — helps the AI understand the situation and correct it in the plan.

For diagnosis, select all applicable symptoms

Multiple symptoms together give the AI much better signal than a single symptom alone. Don't hold back — select everything you're seeing.

Add your region

If you mention your region or country in your profile, the AI can take seasonality and climate into account when making recommendations.

Always read the disclaimer section

The AI uses careful language because plants vary. Use the plan as a starting guide, observe your plant closely, and adjust based on what you see.

Review your automatically saved results

Generated results are saved automatically in My Plans. Rename or organize important results so they are easier to find later.
