This app is built by JJDigit, a small independent operation. We only collect what's strictly necessary to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we keep everything as simple and transparent as possible. This page explains exactly what happens with your information when you use the Mediterranean Recipes app.

1 · What We Collect
1Your access code
When you enter your access code, it is saved in your browser (localStorage) and also verified against our server database. The code is linked to your purchase and identifies your pass — it is not linked to your name, email address, or any personal identifier.
2Your profile preferences
When you fill in your preferences (country, recipe style, dietary needs, servings, allergies, etc.) and tap Save Profile, those settings are stored both in your browser and on our server — linked only to your access code, not to any personal identity. This allows your profile to load automatically on any device where you enter the same code.
3Your saved recipes
Recipes you choose to save are stored on our server, linked to your access code. This makes them accessible from any device. We do not read, analyze, or share the contents of your saved recipes for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
4Usage data
Each time you generate a recipe, we log a count against your access code to track how many of your pass recipes have been used and enforce the daily limit. We also log anonymized usage patterns (meal type requested, approximate response time) to monitor app performance. No personally identifiable information is included in these logs.
5What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information through the app.
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
- We do not collect payment information — all purchases are processed securely through our payment provider.
- We do not use third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
2 · How We Use Your Data
6To make the app work for you
Your profile preferences are used exclusively to personalize recipe generation. Your saved recipes are stored so you can access them from any device. Your usage count is tracked to enforce pass limits and the 10-recipe daily cap. That's it — your data is used only to deliver the service you paid for.
7We never sell or share your data
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. The only external service that receives any data is OpenAI, which processes your recipe requests — see the next section for details.
3 · OpenAI & AI Generation
8What gets sent to OpenAI
When you generate a recipe, your profile preferences (dietary needs, country, style, servings, etc.) and your specific request (meal type, main ingredient, occasion) are sent to OpenAI's API to produce a personalized recipe. This data is sent as a text prompt — it does not include your name, email, or access code. OpenAI processes the prompt and returns the recipe text and image.

4 · Storage & Security
10Where your data is stored
Data is stored in two places: your browser's localStorage (on your device) and our secure server located in the United States. Server-side data is stored in a private SQLite database not accessible from the public web. Your access code, profile, and saved recipes are kept for the duration of your pass and a reasonable period after expiry in case you renew.
11How we protect your data
- All connections to the app use HTTPS encryption.
- Server databases are stored outside the public web root — they cannot be accessed directly via browser.
- API keys and sensitive credentials are stored in private server files, never in client-side code.
- No passwords are stored — access is controlled entirely through unique access codes.
12Cookies and localStorage
This app does not use tracking cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage to remember your access code and profile between visits on the same device — this is purely functional and contains no advertising or tracking data. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings; your data will still be available on the server when you re-enter your code.
5 · Your Rights
13Access, correction & deletion
You can update your profile preferences directly in the app at any time. You can delete individual saved recipes from the My Recipes page. If you want all data associated with your access code permanently deleted from our servers, contact us at info@jjdigit.com and we will process your request promptly — typically within 7 business days.
14Data retention
Your data is retained for the active period of your pass plus up to 6 months after expiry, to allow for renewal continuity. After that window, inactive accounts and their associated data may be removed from our servers. You can also request earlier deletion at any time.
🔒 Our commitment
We will never sell, trade, or monetize your personal data in any way. Your information exists only to power the service you paid for — nothing else.
